Many clinical trials have found that MADs can significantly reduce or eliminate snoring in a large percentage of patients. The reduction in snoring is often attributed to the forward positioning of the mandible, which enlarges the upper airway and reduces airway resistance and collapsibility.

For those with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a more severe condition often associated with snoring, MADs can be an effective alternative to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines, especially for those who find CPAP uncomfortable.

It takes about  7- 10 days to feel comfortable wearing the anti-snoring mouthpiece. For the first few days, it is likely that you will feel some discomfort in your jaw alignment and teeth. The discomfort should go away with regular use. If not, we recommend you stop using it.

People with sleep apnoea should ideally contact their health professional before using any anti snoring device. People with mild sleep apnea can find mouthguards more comfortable to use.
